Every fall, ASI-RM hosts a day-long workshop that brings members together to learn from leaders in the indexing profession. The location rotates among Front Range communities.

The Fall 2016 Workshop was held on October 22nd when Enid Zafran presented on the topic of “Indexing Narrative and Biography.”

If you have an idea for a future workshop that would be of interest to other indexers, please contact us.

Past workshop topics have included: Indexing in the Digital Age; Polishing Your Index; Aboutness in Indexing; Embedded Indexing; Judging Excellence in Indexing; Editing Indexes; and Marketing Your Indexing Services.

The spring meeting is also the chapter’s annual business meeting and a time to report on officer elections and. Elections are conducted online.

Peer Review Groups

  • Indexers often review one another’s indexes to provide support for one another, to improve their indexes, and to learn from one another. Some peer review opportunities exist via online list servs (IndexPeers@yahoogroups.com). Other opportunities are structured to meet in person.
  • Two ASI RM members can be contacted to set up peer review meetings, Donna Drialo in Colorado Springs and Linda Valon in Longmont. Members can contact Donna and Linda to request a peer review meeting to be scheduled. A peer review meeting would review indexes submitted prior to the meeting and sometimes address other indexing topics.
  • Below Lone Tree:  contact Donna Drialo (dmdrialo@gmail.com).
  • Front Range: contact Linda Valon. (linvalon@aol.com).
